In short
Safety covers are a secure way to protect your pool when it is closed. They are designed to hold weight and keep children and pets out of the water. We can help you choose and install the right cover for your pool.
A safety cover is more than a winter tarp. It is a fitted barrier that spans the pool and anchors into the deck. This keeps debris out and prevents accidental entry. Before choosing a cover, measure the deck for anchor layout, not just the water shape. Confirm the cover is a true safety cover, not a winter mesh that will not hold weight. A proper cover also reduces evaporation and keeps the water cleaner over the winter.

The Pool Club offers safety covers as part of its pool services. For pricing, standard pool vacuuming is $95 per hour plus HST, and portable pump vacuuming is $189 per hour plus HST. These are separate services and may not apply to safety cover installation. Please ask for a quote specific to your pool.

Advertised opening pricing covers standard residential inground pools up to 16 by 32 feet with a standard safety cover. Larger pools, specialty covers, and jobs needing extra labour or equipment may cost more. Customers should give their pool dimensions when requesting service.
Several factors affect the cost of a safety cover. Odd shapes, raised walls, and whether the deck can take anchors all play a role. A pool with a standard rectangular shape and a concrete deck is usually simpler to fit. A pool with curves, steps, or a wooden deck may need more anchors and more labour.
The size of the pool also matters. Larger pools need larger covers and more anchor points. The condition of the deck is important too. If the concrete is cracked or the wood is soft, anchors may not hold properly and repairs may be needed first.

How it works
Installing a safety cover follows a clear process. First, the pool is measured and the deck is checked for anchor points. Then the cover is laid out and the anchor locations are marked. Holes are drilled and sleeves are set into the deck. The cover is attached and tensioned so it sits tight across the pool.
Finally, the cover is checked for gaps and adjusted as needed. Covers go on at close and come off at open. Using a tarp and water bags and calling it a safety cover is a common mistake that leaves the pool unprotected.

Questions
A safety cover is a fitted barrier that anchors to the pool deck and holds weight. It keeps children and pets out of the water and reduces debris. Unlike a tarp, it is tensioned across the pool and secured with anchors.
The deck is measured and anchor points are marked. Holes are drilled and sleeves are set into sound concrete or wood. The cover is then attached and tensioned so no gap can take a child or a pet.
Odd shapes, raised walls, and whether the deck can take anchors all affect the cost. Larger pools need more material and more anchor points. Deck condition also matters because anchors must be set into sound concrete or wood.
Covers go on at close and come off at open. A safety cover is used during the off-season to protect the pool and prevent accidents. It is not a substitute for supervision during the swimming season.
A tarp and water bags do not hold weight and can sag into the pool. A safety cover is anchored and tensioned to stay tight across the water. Using a tarp and calling it a safety cover leaves the pool unprotected.

Our sister company

Jovian and Kyle installed our pool last year in South Etobicoke. We have very tight access to the backyard and other pool companies recommend a vinyl pool because of the tight access. We knew we wanted a fiberglass pool and these guys figured it out and got it done with a beautiful Mova Pool. The whole project took no more than 2 weeks. Excellent work with both pool and interlocking. Highly recommend!
Jovian installed our pool and surrounding patio last summer. Good experience from start to end. Solid communication and support throughout the project. Money well spent! (and It looks great!) Thanks, Jovian!
Jovian, Kyle, and their team did an outstanding job transforming our outdoor space. It was a major project involving the replacement of interlock, construction of fences, a deck, pergola, and bench, as well as planting and lighting. They worked quickly and efficiently, executing every aspect with exceptional skill and professionalism. Their communication throughout the process was excellent, keeping us informed and confident every step of the way. We couldn't be happier with the results — the craftsmanship and attention to detail truly exceeded our expectations. One of the best testaments to their work is that two of our neighbours have since hired Stone for their own backyard projects!
Thank you so much for making our front yard so inviting, and our backyard one we can now relax and enjoy. Jovian, was amazing to work with on the design, making changes as we requested them, and making suggestions where appropriate. The budget price for the project was fair, and the project came in on budget and ahead of schedule. Professional communications and reliable service. Thanks so much.
These guys are the best!!.. five stars!.. Jovian and his team are the greatest to work with.. they listened to how I envisioned the fence and they followed through… . Look no further for your outdoor desires .. they are professional, punctual, friendly and fun!..
Jovian and his team did an amazing job on our backyard patio, clearing out our small deck and replacing it with stone tiles across the width of our house. But he really outdid himself by building a stone bench around 13 feet long from the very basic description I gave him. Seats 6 people and grandkids love to run across the top.
Joe and his team came in and in one week completely transformed the look of our yard. Stone steps and armour stone as well as plantings and a new fence. We get compliments every day from neighbours and those passing by.
Jovian was one of the only contractors that explained to us the proper way of fixing our front stone steps and re-doing our flagstone with a wet lay. After hiring numerous contractors over the years, he was one of the few that I did not have to worry about making sure that the job was done properly, thus alleviating much stress that occurs during projects. He was professional, courteous and work was completed in a timely manner. I would highly recommend his services and will always use Stone Landscaping for anything I need done in the future.
