In short

Overview

Pool repair is the work of finding and fixing what is actually wrong with your pool, whether that is a leak, a failing pump, a torn liner, or equipment that will not start. A repair that skips diagnosis often fails again within a week, so the first step is always to identify the surface and the wet source before opening anything under pressure.

Pool Repair That Starts With the Right Diagnosis

Before any part is replaced or patched, the surface is identified as vinyl, plaster, or fiberglass, and the wet source is found. Equipment is shut down before any fitting under pressure is opened. Valves and breakers are set so only the failed part is isolated. The part is then replaced or patched, run, and watched to confirm the fix holds.

What the Visit Covers

Standard pool vacuuming is $95 per hour plus HST, portable pump vacuuming is $189 per hour plus HST, salt cell cleaning is $45 plus HST, and cartridge filter deep cleaning is $125 plus HST. Solar heating startup is $50 plus HST, and an additional cleaning visit is $125 per visit plus HST.

Advertised opening pricing covers standard residential inground pools up to 16 by 32 feet with a standard safety cover. Larger pools, specialty covers, and jobs needing extra labour or equipment may cost more. Customers should give their pool dimensions when requesting service.

What Changes the Price

The cost of a pool repair depends on part availability, underground access, and whether the shell or only the pad is involved. A simple seal or lid replacement is usually quick, while a leak under the deck or a cracked shell requires more time and equipment. Freeze damage often shows at opening, while mid-season repairs are often seals, lids, and salt cells. The exact price is set after the diagnosis, not before.

How it works

How the Work Is Done

The repair process begins with identifying the surface and finding the wet source. Air in the pump lid points to a suction leak at the lid o-ring, skimmer, or underground suction. High filter pressure points to a dirty filter or a restriction returning to the pool. Tightening a union until the nut cracks is a common mistake that is avoided by using the right torque.

Questions

Questions People Ask First

What are common signs my pool needs repair?

Air in the pump lid points to a suction leak at the lid o-ring, skimmer, or underground suction. High filter pressure points to a dirty filter or a restriction returning to the pool. Freeze damage often shows at opening, while mid-season repairs are often seals, lids, and salt cells.

How do you find a pool leak?

The first step is to identify the surface as vinyl, plaster, or fiberglass, then find the wet source before patching a stain. Equipment is shut down before any fitting under pressure is opened. Valves and breakers are set so only the failed part is isolated.

Why do repairs fail soon after they are done?

A repair without a leak or equipment diagnosis often fails the next week. Tightening a union until the nut cracks is a common mistake. The part must be replaced or patched, then run and watched to confirm the fix holds.

What affects the cost of a pool repair?

Part availability, underground access, and whether the shell or only the pad is involved all affect the cost. A simple seal or lid replacement is usually quick, while a leak under the deck or a cracked shell requires more time and equipment.

What areas do you serve for pool repair?

The Pool Club serves Aurora, Richmond Hill, Vaughan, Etobicoke, Newmarket, and King City.

How soon can you come out for a repair?

The exact scheduling depends on the diagnosis and part availability.

Jovian and Kyle installed our pool last year in South Etobicoke. We have very tight access to the backyard and other pool companies recommend a vinyl pool because of the tight access. We knew we wanted a fiberglass pool and these guys figured it out and got it done with a beautiful Mova Pool. The whole project took no more than 2 weeks. Excellent work with both pool and interlocking. Highly recommend!

Jovian, Kyle, and their team did an outstanding job transforming our outdoor space. It was a major project involving the replacement of interlock, construction of fences, a deck, pergola, and bench, as well as planting and lighting. They worked quickly and efficiently, executing every aspect with exceptional skill and professionalism. Their communication throughout the process was excellent, keeping us informed and confident every step of the way. We couldn't be happier with the results — the craftsmanship and attention to detail truly exceeded our expectations. One of the best testaments to their work is that two of our neighbours have since hired Stone for their own backyard projects!

Thank you so much for making our front yard so inviting, and our backyard one we can now relax and enjoy. Jovian, was amazing to work with on the design, making changes as we requested them, and making suggestions where appropriate. The budget price for the project was fair, and the project came in on budget and ahead of schedule. Professional communications and reliable service. Thanks so much.

Jovian and his team did an amazing job on our backyard patio, clearing out our small deck and replacing it with stone tiles across the width of our house. But he really outdid himself by building a stone bench around 13 feet long from the very basic description I gave him. Seats 6 people and grandkids love to run across the top.

Joe and his team came in and in one week completely transformed the look of our yard. Stone steps and armour stone as well as plantings and a new fence. We get compliments every day from neighbours and those passing by.

Jovian was one of the only contractors that explained to us the proper way of fixing our front stone steps and re-doing our flagstone with a wet lay. After hiring numerous contractors over the years, he was one of the few that I did not have to worry about making sure that the job was done properly, thus alleviating much stress that occurs during projects. He was professional, courteous and work was completed in a timely manner. I would highly recommend his services and will always use Stone Landscaping for anything I need done in the future.
